Privacy:The thing of the past



The time when IOT(Internet of things) is fast gaining momentum in various fields, privacy on the Internet is still a worry among a large number of people around the world. The giants of the tech world compromising on such an integral thing is a cause of concern; Recent data breaches on Facebook and illegal use of user's information on such a huge platform drew a lot of criticism.
People have come out hard and strong on such poor measures taken when it regards to people's privacy, which is evident from the backlashes faced by Mark Zuckerberg, his loss of revenue and the allegations against Google for illegally tracking user's locations being taken to court.
In terms of privacy the company to learn from is Apple, the hardware tech giant which recently faced lots of criticism for it's exorbitantly priced devices. When it comes to privacy in tech used the masses nobody comes close.They may not be perfect in every way but whatever they do when it comes to privacy they seem to be industry leading.A recent study in the US has shown the increase in number of android loyalists switching over to Apple for it's better privacy measures.Close to 16 percent of IPhone buyer's in the 30-day period after the iPhone Xr's launch were Android enthusiast's, which is much higher than the numbers that were recorded after the launch iPhone 8 and 8 plus in 2017.


Apple's CEO Tim Cook referred to privacy being a basic human right at one of it's launch events.This very much shows that privacy is occupying top priority among users with the increasing number of allegations against big tech companies in the world. How these companies respond to such negative impact on revenue and brand image is to be seen.
